Instructions
 

Slice the spicy andouille sausage or smoked beef sausage.

  • Sauté the sausage in a large skillet over medium high heat until browned and fragrant. Browning the sausage enhances its smoky flavor and creates delicious bits at the bottom of the skillet.

Add diced onion, bell pepper, and tomato to the skillet, sautéing until the vegetables are tender.

  • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and Cajun seasoning to fully incorporate the spices.

Add long grain white rice and chicken broth, stirring thoroughly to combine.

  • Bring the mixture to a boil, cover with a lid, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the broth is absorbed.
